THINGS TO KNOW

You’re packed and ready to come here and camp! So, let us give you some additional information that you may or may not need. There is a Food Lion in Floyd, VA and a Walmart and Lowes in Stuart, VA, both around 30 minutes away. The Family Dollar and Meadows of Dan Market have more than you would think from frozen pizzas and staple items, to craft beer and produce/meat. The Poor Farmers Market across the street offers fresh, local produce.

Jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a great drive! We are located around mile marker 180, which is just about halfway between The Great Smoky Mountains and Shenandoah National Park. Mabry Mill is right around the corner, and Rocky Knob Rec Area is a short drive with great overlooks.

Laundry. We are currently in the middle of building our laundry/hang out space, which will hopefully be ready in the Summer of 2022. Until then, there is a laundromat on the side of Meadows Of Dan Market. We have done laundry quite a few times here and it’s clean and cheap.

Trash. Please place all trash into the can by the road. Make sure the refuse is bagged and the can is latched because our bears like to be mischievous. At the moment recycling is not offered.

Trails. There are a number of trails on the property for you to explore. While we try our best to keep them maintained, they may be a little overgrown depending on the season. “Go Your Own Way” is at the front of the property near the trash can. It’s super easy and kids love it. “Ginger’s Revenge” is very steep as is “Angry Scotsmen!” Please be careful. The Outer Banks Loop takes you down the hill to the creek (cross if you’re able to) and continues across the ridge and to the other side of the property. From there continue to the other part of the creek, where you will need to cross as well. From here, you can continue up the road to the driveway or take Ginger’s Revenge or any other other small trails. Hiking through the creek is also a lot of fun!
